Women Build celebrates women in our community and everyone is welcome! Bring a friend or family member, or just yourself. Find a build day below that works for you and we’ll see you in March!

“I’m a community advocate, I have had a lot of meetings in this house for our community to really make changes where we live. So this home has not only been the house where we call our home, but it’s been also a place where others have come and we have been able to advocate for our needs in our community.” – Edith, homeowner since 2008 talking about how the stability of homeownership has allowed her to expand her community advocacy efforts

“I felt the safest ever. I felt safe in my house. I felt so cozy and warm because there was not one leak anywhere. I had never experienced that in 30 years. And there’s this sense of like upgrading your life, upgrading your world, where you can then maybe help others.” – Opal, home preservation homeowner talking about life in her home since critical repairs were made

“Sweat equity was an incredible experience for me. I learned so many things. I learned how to build, to paint. I met so many incredible people. And when something around the house needs to be done – it instilled so much confidence and empowerment in me –  I’m not afraid to take it on.” – Andie, homeowner since 2017 talking about her experience of helping to build her own home
