Nonprofit financial leader brings more than 30 years of experience to role as Habitat advances growing pipeline of affordable homeownership projects
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. (October 15, 2026) – we today announced the appointment of J. Mark Jenkins, CPA, CGMA as Chief Financial Officer. Jenkins most recently served as the organization’s Vice President of Finance and will now lead Habitat Greater San Francisco’s finance, compliance and data strategy as it advances a growing pipeline of affordable homeownership projects across Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo counties.

Jenkins brings more than 30 years of nonprofit financial leadership to the role, with expertise in financial management and reporting, strategic financial planning, budgeting, data systems and grant and debt compliance. Prior to joining Habitat Greater San Francisco, Jenkins served as Chief Financial Officer of Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, where he focused on using technology and data to strengthen decision-making and collaboration across the organization and its agency partners.
“I’m honored to take on this role at a time when Habitat Greater San Francisco is poised for significant growth,” said Jenkins. “Every pro forma we build, every dollar we manage, comes back to the same question: how many more families can we help become homeowners? That’s the lens I bring to this work, and it’s why I’m excited to help build the financial systems and discipline that let Habitat keep growing its pipeline responsibly.”
Jenkins has held senior financial leadership roles at Westside Community Services, Envision Schools and San Francisco Ballet. He began his career at Deloitte, where he served as lead Senior Manager of the Northern California Not-for-Profit Services Group, working with approximately 150 Bay Area nonprofit clients.
“I’ve had the chance to work alongside J. Mark for more than a year now, and I’ve seen firsthand how he thinks about both our mission and our finances,” said Jen Wilds, President and Chief Executive Officer of Habitat Greater San Francisco. “He brings a rare combination of financial rigor and genuine care for the families we serve. As we grow our pipeline of affordable homeownership projects across the Bay Area, that combination is exactly what will let us scale responsibly without losing sight of why we do this important work.”
Jenkins was awarded the CFO Evolution Armanino Client Award for CFO of the Year in 2019 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, summa cum laude, from the University of Central Florida. He is a member of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He currently serves on the Audit Committee of the San Francisco Community Health Center and has served on nonprofit boards and committees for more than 30 years.
