The need to understand and act on the urgent issues around keeping older adults in their homes, or “aging in place,” have never been greater.
The latest national statistics on the growth of the elderly population is eye-opening.
In just five years, from 2012 to 2017, the number of household heads over 65 years of age rose from 27 million to 31 million. And the number of households headed by someone age 80 and over increased by just over 200,000 to seven and a half million.
