Corporate Build Day Sponsorship Program and Build-a-Thon
Volunteering at a Habitat for Humanity construction site will be one of the most rewarding experiences you can offer your employees. Habitat welcomes partner companies to roll up their sleeves and assist in the construction of a Habitat home through the Build Day Sponsorship Program. Volunteering with Habitat is also a perfect opportunity for team-building. Employees will feel a sense of camaraderie as they strengthen relationships with their co-workers and pride that their team-building dollars go to support something enduring: a solution to the local housing crisis.
As part of your Build Day with Habitat for Humanity, we ask you to provide a sponsorship to help offset the cost of construction materials, staff oversight, tools, and contractor fees - thereby reducing the cost of the homes that we build. Starting at the $1,000 sponsorship level, the number of volunteers in your group will determine the sponsorship level (please see Sponsorship Form for giving levels and associated benefits):
4-10 volunteers - $1,000
10+ volunteers - $100 per each additional volunteer
Build-a-thons are an extension of the Build Day Sponsorship Program. A Build-a-thon is a great opportunity for groups that want to make a significant impact in a condensed time frame. Corporations have planned Build-a-thons with Habitat to reinforce special initiatives or during designated global volunteer weeks. Given the rather significant investment in time and resources that it will take to plan and execute such an event, you can depend on Habitat to provide a meaningful, well orchestrated, and memorable experience for your company.
Tuesday-Friday (4 Consecutive Build Days) = $10,000 (Saturday is an additional $5,000)
Sponsorships are necessary to reserve build days in advance. If you are unable to sponsor your build day, you can still volunteer but first you will need to register your group with the Volunteer Services Department at,
Amc2@habitatgsf.org and get a Join Code. Your group can then self register through our online
volunteer scheduling tool for any available dates that have not been reserved by Sponsor Groups.
We use volunteers on the construction site Tuesday through Saturday (depending on site). Please plan well in advance - our calendar fills up quickly - especially Saturdays!
Benefits
Corporate partners receive a range of benefits and recognition from Habitat for Humanity in return for their sponsorship and support. These include (but are not limited to):
Construction site signage
Opportunity to explore publicity options with Habitat

Habitat logo/name usage
Scheduling Logistics
Team Building opportunities take place Tuesdays through Saturdays throughout the year, and are scheduled on a first-come basis. **Please note, days & times vary depending on the site**
Scheduling can take place two weeks to four months in advance, subject to date availability.
The workday is 8:30am to 4:30pm, and volunteers are requested to make a full-day commitment.
Depending on which site you choose, Companies may recruit up to 25 volunteers to build, but are not obligated to do so. Many small companies invite their families, clients, and customers to join them. For an additional donation, we may be able to accommodate larger groups, depending on the stage of construction.
Companies may choose to cater the lunch or ask their participants to bring a brown-bag lunch.
The sponsorship is fully tax-deductible. Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco is an official 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. (Tax ID: 94-3088881 )
