Volunteer
Building a better world - one home, one family at a time.
This is the spirit of Habitat for Humanity that has inspired thousands of people and organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area to get involved and help make a difference. It started as a grass-roots effort and has become an organized movement dedicated to providing simple, decent, affordable homes for families who lack adequate shelter.
Volunteers on the construction site work as a team and are assigned a specific task for the day. Drywall a bedroom, landscape the courtyard, paint the kitchen, lay carpet - just some of the many building jobs we have each day for volunteers. Skilled construction staff members monitor volunteers every step of the way - provide training and oversight throughout the day to ensure that volunteers stay safe. Working on the construction site is hard work, but it is also fun and inspiring.
You may even work side-by-side with a Habitat family, helping to support their dream of owning a home. By 2013, Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco expects to build 100 new and rehabilitated homes - providing shelter for more local families who lack adequate housing. To reach that goal, we need your help!
