Kentfield, Strawberry, Santa Venetia top county affordable housing development list

A task force advising county officials on where to build affordable housing in Marin’s unincorporated areas has ranked 35 sites across the county. Of the top 15 sites, six are in Kentfield and Greenbrae, four in Strawberry, three in Santa Venetia and two in Lucas Valley.

But before any sites are designated for affordable housing, there will be a lengthy community review process involving environmental review, including an analysis of how zoning density fits with county planning policies; a series of hearings before the county Planning Commission; and review by the Board of Supervisors.
